Her last Spring Festival

Her last Spring Festival in our hometown

Shared by Mei (daughter)

She insisted on making all the dumplings herself that year, even though her hands weren't as steady as before. "The filling needs to be just right," she kept saying, adjusting the seasoning one more time. We didn't know it would be her last Spring Festival with us, but somehow she seemed to pour extra love into every fold of those dumplings.

When we sat around the table that evening, she looked at each of us with such tenderness. "This is what matters," she whispered, "being together." The taste of those dumplings still brings tears to my eyes.

Write to them, or to yourself in this moment…
